Google celebrates Popeye cartoonist’s birthday today by putting Popeye on Google.com. A Google doodle of Popeye eating his favorite food, spinach can be seen on Google’s home page.
Popeye the Sailor man is a famous fictional hero well-known for appearing in TV cartoons and comic strips. Popeye was created by Elzie Crisler Segar.
E.C. Segar was born on December 8, 1894 and created Popeye in January 1929. He first appeared in the daily King Features comic strip in Thimble Theater.
