Ninja Assassin Movie

I just watched the movie Ninja Assassin and my last movie scene “syndrome” is the gushing blood scenes. Well, I was expecting that because after all, it’s a Ninja film. If you don’t have a strong stomach, then this movie is not the right one for you because it’s really, really gory. Imagine seeing flying swords and shurikens and lots of blood spilling everywhere.

The movie was fast paced. I did not even have much time to recover from the ouch of every action packed fight scenes.

Rain’s(Raizo) acting was pretty admirable. I think he took his ninja role seriously and he did a lot of nice martial arts moves.

Personally, I was not disappointed with the movie. Though im really not a fan of bloody action films, I am somewhat amazed because of the ninja assassins.

Ampatuan Surrenders | Ampatuan Now in Metro Manila

The prime suspect to the Maguindanao massacre has finally surrendered and is currently in Fort Bonifacio.

Datu Unsay Mayor Andal Ampatuan Jr., the son of Maguindanao Governor Andal Ampatuan Sr., has been identified as the head of the Monday's massacre of at least 57 people in Maguindanao province.

The crime that was said to root from the political conflict between two prominent and rich clan in Maguindao could lead or could have had caused a brewing Rido or what they call as "ubusan ng lahi (an armed hostilities between families and kinship groups)". This may just be the first part of the election violence that can heighten as the election nears and as the number of victims increases. The victims of the brutal and ruthless killings include civilians, journalists who were assigned to cover the filing of candidacy for governor of Mayor Esmael Mangudadatu, a former ally-turned-political rival of the Ampatuans.

Ampatuan is set to be detained in NBI prison and just a few minutes ago, arrived at the Fort Bonifacio through Philippine Air Force plane. He was escorted by two NBI guards, holding him on his shoulders but without any handcuffs. Earlier this afternoon, he was handed over to DOJ Justice Secretary Agnes Devanadera who brought him to Manila.

Actor Johnny Delgado Died due to Cancer

Actor Johnny Delgado died this afternoon due to complications from Lymphoma. He passed away at the age of 61. He was diagnosed last year with the Lymphoma or cancer of the lymph nodes. He underwent chemotherapy and was said to have had suffered with the pain of this disease. One side effect of his chemo was perforations in his intestines. This required operation and eventually, made him too weak to take another round of chemo.

Johnny Delgado is considered to be one of the respectable veteran actors in the Philippine show business.

The wake is at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Shrine in New Manila, Quezon City. Interment will be on Nov. 24 at the Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina.

Manny Pacquaio, who has been the recent star of the news for winning the match against Cotto, is now facing another issue where he stars again! As for Krista's side, her manager Arnold Vegafria dismissed the issue and said that Manny and Krista are just good friends.

Best Viewing Spot for the LEONID Meteor Shower | What is Leonid Meteor Shower

Leonids is considered to be the most spectacular meteor shower which is also known as the King of Meteor Showers. This kind of meteor shower appears on November and is best seen on November 17. It produces more than 500 meteors an hour.

It is expected that the moon will not be visible during the Leonid meteor shower so we will have a better view of the falling stars since it will be darker.

According to NASA, we will have a shower of 20-30 meteors an hour this year. Best time to watch it in USA is after 1:30 am EST.

In this interview, he admits that he was hurt with Cotto's punches but he tried to hide it as much as possible. He considers this fight as one of his "hardest fight" and says that Cotto is tough. He also admits that before the fight, he kind of felt bad because Cotto kept on saying that he was bigger and stronger. According to Manny, "He has power but in this fight, you need to be smart. You need to have the proper mind condition."

Future plans after the fight?
Manny's going to have a concert promoting his new album. He's also going to have a movie (WaPackMan) which is a Metro Manila Filmfest entry for 2009 and will be released this December. He's also going to spend more time with his family.

La Diva Sings the RP National Anthem in Pacquaio-Cotto Fight

After Martin Nievera, the SOP all-girl pop group “La Diva” sang the Philippine national anthem before thousands of spectators in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada during the Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto clash.

The group, who rose to fame through the Sunday noontime show SOP, is composed of “Pinoy Pop Superstar” champions Jonalyn Viray, Aicelle Santos, and Maricris Garcia. They were personally picked by Pacquiao.

For the Puerto Rican champion, it was Ednita Nazario who sang Puerto Rico's national anthem. The United States anthem, "American Idol's" Ramiele Malubay sang "The Star-Spangled Banner."

Manny Pacquiao wins WBO Welterweight Title

The overwhelming force better known as Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto has finally put an end to the most controversial fight in the boxing history.

Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, 30, from the Philippines, fights to become the first boxer to ever win his seventh world title in different divisions. After the victory in six divisions: flyweight (112 pounds), super bantamweight (122 lb), featherweight (126 lb), super featherweight (130 lb), lightweight (135 lb) and light welterweight (140 lb), the southpaw finally got his seventh after defeating Cotto in their fight for the welterweight division.

The Puerto Rico pride Miguel Cotto, 29, who was rumored to have difficulty making the weight limit, ends the hearsay, proudly facing the opponent with his 145-pound weight. Cotto has 34 wins, 2 loss, and 27 Knockout Wins and is out to have his 2nd title defense.

There was also some reports that Miguel is some kind of a trash-talker calling Pacquiao’s trainer, Coach Roach, an a* hole during the weigh-in. According to Cotto, “Manny picked the wrong person, the wrong moment”. Now, it looks like it’s the other way around. Meanwhile, Pacquiao, remains in his carefree and humble composure, smiling during interviews.

I just finished watching the fight in the TV and it was a WOW! Manny was remarkable with nice body jobs . Cotto was incredible with his left hand punches. But Manny had the advantage with his breakneck speed and was able to make Cotto fall several times. Pacquiao, despite Cotto's walking away from him, never fails to hit him. By the end of the 12th round, Manny Pacquiao was declared the WBO Welterweight champion.

I was never a fan of boxing, but after watching this game, I started to appreciate what these two warriors are fighting for.

Findings about ice on the moon has been verified. Water is said to exist on the moon but in very small quantities. According to researchers, the top layer of the lunar surface would hold about 32 ounces of water.

"If the water molecules are as mobile as we think they are — even a fraction of them — they provide a mechanism for getting water to those permanently shadowed craters," told the planetary geologist Carle Pieters of Brown University. "This opens a whole new avenue [of lunar research], but we have to understand the physics of it to utilize it."

This might lead to the possibility of future lunar bases, which can be a potential source of drinking water and fuel.
